it could happen

Simon was pretty sure Josh was as ready as he was to get back home. To have fresh clothes. A nice hot shower.

"I think we'll need a week or so to recover from this," Simon said on their walk back.

"What are you getting at?" Josh teased, "Are you saying I'm too hard on you, mate?"

Simon chuckled as he made sure nature was just as they'd left it. No one would even know they'd been there.

"You know what I mean. A tent is not that comfortable." Neither was carrying it packed in a back pack, either. " What were we thinking coming out all this way?"

"I've got a thought now, a lager would be a might nice at the Black Cat," Josh said. So that was the first stop they made once they got to the village.

Just as they got to the door, Simon notice the sign in the window, Room for Rent. He smiled at Josh then. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Josh grinned too and took the sign from the window at the door. "We could at least investigate."

Simon wasn't sure how his mum might react to the news that they'd want to strike it out on their own, but he really didn't care. All he really wanted was to be alone without his mother.

"I hope we can afford it," Simon kept looking at the rent sign. "It would be heaven without being under Mum's thumb the blessed time.

"At least its a try." Josh remained even lipped. Simon was beginning to think Josh wasn't into the idea.
