Newt had a good mind all day to go to Laleh's and give her a piece of his mind. What in the hell did she think she was doing, treating Lauren that way. Leaving her in the cold like that. Then having a male over for God knows what reason. It couldn't have been good. But he didn't. Instead, he went straight to the library. There were some opening for shelvers. So he could put in as many hours as he wanted. Only he couldn't because, Billy needed for him to watch Leia while Josh and Simon were out.
Of course, he thought of Amy even if one of her poster was on the door of the library. Hadn't anyone seen her?
He looked around the library. It was quiet except for a few giggling girls. One was Theresa MacQueen. Blond and perky which meant mischief couldn't be far behind. Naturally, being a MacQueen meant she was up to no good. The women in the family all seemed to carry that trait.
She smacked her gum and whispered into someone's ear. She then gave him a wicked smile as he pushed a cart of books toward the nonfiction.
"Hey," she came up from behind him. "Is it really true? What they say about you?"
"What? That I see ghosts?" He looked her straight in the eye then.
"No, that wasn't it." But she studied his answer carefully, she might need him some day for such a reason. "You and Billy. Gayed up and all for each other?"
"Just loads, naturally." Newt couldn't help but pucker a smile about her comment.
"That's the sadest thing I've ever heard," Theresa pouted. "He's so beautiful. How could he stand to get together with such a Donnie Darko like yourself?" She hugged herself then.
"Opposites, I suppose." Newt shrugged.
"Its killing me, really." She told him and turned away. Just then she saw Rhys Ashworth passby outside. Immediately she had a bloke worth looking into.
