Gemma loved a good party. She supposed it was Shou's. Afterall, he invited her.
"Why wouldn't Ian come with you?" He was curious about him, and it bothered her a little.
"It might look we're together, I suppose, but we're not." She wondered if he got the hint. She'd only came because she knew Shou would be there. It was at an open buliding just behind a nearby pub. There was an open bar. Dancing. It was quite happening about, thick with musicians and yet so relaxed. People joking. Doing silly drinking games. Mostly, they were people from the festival. Sort of an after-party as the festival was coming to a close.
"Really?" He smiled about that, and she took that that he liked her. She really did like him. Of course, there were loads of people he wanted to introduce her too. It was as if he knew everyone, but he went back to questioning her about Ian. Wondering how long she'd known him. How long had he been in a band. It was so boring to Gemma.
Before she knew it, she found herself not talking to him at all, but to the computer geek in his band who helped with the technical stuff. Monty. She kept looking around for Shou, thinking this might be her chance. Finding someone new and so fasinating. She was certain he was brilliant.
But there she was with Monty. She could have found his kind in any pub anywhere. There was nothing exotic about him. She was certain of it now. Worst party ever.
