When Simon heard from Maxie he thought it might be good news, he needed some good news. As it was he felt he'd intruded somehow on Kelsy and Colin. He hated being the third wheel. He didn't know what to make of himself, anymore. Evidently, he and Josh were through. They didn't go near each other's offices as it was in the library. It was as if they'd drifted a part, and he didn't even have the energy to do a thing about it. Actually.
"So what do you mean? You're in jail!" This couldn't be. Katy was no where and Maxie was in jail. He could tell Maxie was on the brink of a breakdown. He felt shattered and didn't know what to do.
"Well, I'm coming to get you!" Simon decided. After all, Kelsy really didn't need him here. Not right now. He was just in the way.
"What could you do?" Maxie sounded so frantic.
"I'll make some calls. We'll get you out of jail. We'll find Katy!"
"And if you can't?"
"You have to have hope, Maxie. You have too." It gave Simon a shiver. It was like waking up to a bad dream. There had to be some solution to this. An answer.
He called Jamie as soon as he got off the phone with Maxie. Jamie said he'd tell Jeremy what was up so he'd have the time away from the library to help Maxie.
"I'll be thinking of both of you," Jamie said.
"Good, have positive thoughts about Katy too, will you?" Simon asked.
"Of course." Then Jamie told him all about Sasha being ill and Rhys on life support. The Taxi ran over him.
Really, Simon was beginning to wonder what in the hell was happening in the village.
